BMI Congratulates its Winners at the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards
BMI affiliates conquered the categories at the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 17.
Ella Langley picked up a record-breaking seven trophies for Female Artist of the Year, Musical Event Of The Year with Riley Green for “Don’t Mind If I Do,” Artist-Songwriter of the year and Song and Single of the Year with her global smash “Choosin’ Texas,” earning nods as each an artist, songwriter and producer. Cody Johnson was awarded the night’s top honor of Entertainer of the Year as well as his first-ever win as Male Artist of the Year, while Parker McCollum took home Album of the Year for his self-titled collection.
The Red Clay Strays earned the win for Group of the Year and Brooks & Dunn added another Duo of the Year trophy to their collection. BMI’s Rooftop On The Row® performers Avery Anna and Tucker Wetmore took home awards for New Female and New Male Artist of the Year. GRAMMY-nominated Jessie Jo Dillon also made history with her third consecutive Songwriter of the Year win.
The evening was filled with all-star performances throughout the night from BMI affiliates Avery Anna, Blake Shelton, Carter Faith, Cody Johnson, Dan* + Shay, Ella Langley, Kane Brown, Lainey Wilson, Lee Ann Womack, Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, Parker McCollum, Riley Green, The Red Clay Strays, Thomas Rhett, Tucker Wetmore and Zach Top.
