BMI is thrilled to congratulate two of our affiliates who were honored at last night’s 79th Annual Tony Awards, which were held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Broadway music director Mary-Mitchell Campbell received the Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award in recognition of her work in advocacy. Designed to recognize “a member of the theatre community who has made a substantial contribution of volunteered time and effort on behalf of more humanitarian, social service, or charitable organizations,” this prestigious accolade was presented to Campbell in light of her extensive work for the Broadway stage and her long history of activism, including her work as a founding member of Musicians United for Social Equity (MUSE), her work with Maestra and Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP)/Arts Ignite and the New York City Center Encores! series.

Production manager Jake Bell received the Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theatre, which recognizes “individuals that have demonstrated extraordinary achievement but are not eligible in established competitive Tony Award categories.” Having led an extensive, accomplished career as a stage manager and production manager on some of Broadway’s longest-running productions and touring shows, Bell is the perfect recipient of this distinguished award.

Congratulations to all!
