Last week, BMI’s Executive Vice President of Creative & Licensing, Mike Steinberg, introduced the keynote conversation between award-winning BMI composer Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor during Variety’s “Music For Screens week.” The Emmy, GRAMMY and Oscar-winning duo, who have collaborated on several projects including The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl, and HBO’s The Watchmen, spoke about the creative process behind their most recent projects, Soul on Disney+ and Mank, which premiered on Netflix earlier this month. Ross, who this year won his first BMI Country Award for the mega-hit “Old Town Road,” is also the recipient of several BMI Film, TV and Visual Media Awards, in addition to the BMI Pop and R&B/Hip-Hop Awards he also won this year.
