BMI Celebrates Pride Month
BMI is proud to honor Pride Month, commemorating the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan that led to a powerful movement for equal justice and equal opportunity for the LGBTQ+ community. A month-long series of celebratory events attracts millions of participants around the world, and memorials are also held for those who have been lost to hate crimes or HIV/AIDS. Importantly, the commemoration recognizes the significant impact of the LGBTQ+ community on history and culture, locally, nationally, and internationally.
BMI salutes our incredible songwriters and composers who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as our affiliates who advocate for equality and acceptance for all.
