BMI Attends SCL Holiday Party Honoring Award-Winning BMI Composer Alan Menken

The Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) hosted their annual holiday dinner on December 18, at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. During the evening, renowned BMI songwriter and composer Alan Menken was honored with the SCL’s 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award. Menken is a legendary songwriter, film composer, and previous recipient of the BMI Icon Award, widely known for his songs and scores on a variety of Disney classics like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Enchanted and Tangled, among many others. BMI was proudly in attendance to support the esteemed Menken, and the SCL, which is committed to advancing the interests of composers and lyricists.
