BMI and Texas Restaurant Association Showcase the Power of Music at the 2026 Texas Restaurant Show
BMI was proud to partner with the Texas Restaurant Association (TRA) at the 2026 Texas Restaurant Show, held July 12–13 at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio. The event welcomed more than 7,000 restaurant and hospitality professionals from across Texas, creating an ideal opportunity to connect business owners & operators with BMI songwriters while also providing educational sessions to learn more about the service BMI provides to both music creators and music users.
Attendees were entertained by Texas-based BMI songwriters BARTLY and Hannah Swann who delivered outstanding live performances during the Bar & Nightclub Showcase, demonstrating firsthand how music enhances the guest experience and creates memorable moments.
Throughout the two-day event, Luke McNeal, BMI Vice President of General Licensing, led educational sessions highlighting the important role music plays in creating an inviting atmosphere, increasing customer engagement, and helping restaurants and bars stand out in a competitive marketplace. Attendees also learned how BMI supports both music users and music creators by connecting businesses with the rights needed to legally use music while ensuring songwriters and composers are compensated for their work.
BMI has been a preferred partner of the Texas Restaurant Association since 2000. For more than 25 years, BMI and TRA have worked together to provide valuable educational opportunities for hospitality professionals, showcasing the business benefits of music and helping restaurant owners understand the important role music licensing plays in supporting the creators behind the songs that enhance their establishments every day.
