2nd Annual Songwriter’s Summit in Salt Lake a Huge Success

The 2nd annual Songwriter’s Summit held recently (3/27-3/28) in Salt Lake City featured live performances and panel discussions that celebrated the craft of songwriting. The two-day event, sponsored by BMI and Bonneville Radio, featured an iconic line-up of BMI songwriters who not only delivered powerhouse performances, but also imparted their knowledge during the day long educational portion of the Summit which featured a series of panels that focused on songwriting, artist development, production and music licensing issues. This year’s crop of songwriters included:  Art Alexakis, frontman for the band Everclear, Spin Doctors lead singer Chris Barron, Air Supply’s Graham Russell, Nash Overstreet of Hot Chelle Rae along with award-winning Nashville songwriters Dylan Altman and Tommy Lee James, who have written hit songs for Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Reba and Jake Owen among others.
