BMI songwriter Wendell Mobley was honored with a party staged at the Music Row offices of his publisher Warner-Tamerlane Publishing Corp., where his hit "Fast Cars and Freedom" was celebrated for taking the top position on the charts. Co-written by Neil Thrasher and Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts, and produced by Mark Bright and Marty Williams, the song appears on the group's #1 Lyric Street Records album Feels Like Today. Previously, the co-writing trio and Rascal Flatts scored a Top Five single with the 2004 BMI Country Award-winning track "I Melt."
