Entertainment Meets Technology at Digital Hollywood

BMI was a co-sponsor of the recent Digital Hollywood, the premier entertainment and technology conference in the country, held March 27-30 at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel. A special pre-show panel entitled "Mobile Music - Business Models - Downloads, Subscriptions & Ringtones," featured BMI's Richard Conlon, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, Media Licensing as a panelist.

The discussion centered on the importance of how mobile and music are the two most complementary sectors to emerge out of the integration of the entertainment and technology industries. The panel, moderated by Scott Campbell, US Media & Communications Industry Advisor, British Consulate-General, also included KamranV, Artist Manager, CyKik; Ted Cohen, Senior Vice President, D3-Digital Development & Distribution, EMI Music; Jonathan Kim, Senior Vice President Product & Services, WiderThan, Inc.; Nicolas Pelletier, Chief Executive Officer, Musiwave; and Bill Valenti, Chief Executive Officer, Melodeo.

Digital Hollywood debuted in 1990 and has from its start been among the leading trade conferences in its field with over 15,000 top executives in the film, television, music, home video, cable, telecommunications and computer industries attending the various events each year.
