Guitar Auction to Benefit Lennon Scholarship Fund

Posted in News on October 14, 2004

In celebration of what would have been John Lennon's 64th birthday, Gibson Guitar has launched several major global programs honoring the late BMI songwriter's enormous contributions to music and to the world. One of these special events is an exclusive auction on eBay launched by Epiphone, a division of the guitar giant's family of musical instruments.

The auction, which will directly benefit the BMI Foundation's John Lennon Scholarships, includes one of the earliest pairs of the Epiphone John Lennon Casino reissues - the "1965" and "Revolution" models. The pair is #25 and is one of only a few pairs held back from the original, limited-run in 1999 of these highly-collectible guitars. The Casino reissues are based on Lennon's original 1965 Epiphone Casino. The "1965" features its original sunburst finish, while the "Revolution" model replicates the natural wood of Lennon's guitar after he stripped off the finish.

This exclusive auction is open for 10 days from 10am ET (7am PT) on Saturday, October 9 (Lennon's birthday) until 10am ET (7am PT) on Tuesday, October 19. To bid on the guitars, click here or search eBay by seller User ID "myepiphoneguitar."
