BMI Dominates Billboard Mid-Year Songwriter Charts

BMI writers earned more than 60% of the top positions in Billboard's mid-year songwriter charts published the week of June 14. Among those, R&B singer R. Kelly, country singer/songwriter Jamie O'Hara and Latin rock singer Juanes took the number one spot on the four charts published in this special edition, with Kelly topping both the Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songwriter charts.

Additionally, BMI country songwriters including Toby Keith, Stephony Smith and Jeffrey Steele earned 80% of the Hot Country chart, while producer/artists like Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo from the Neptunes, and BMI Latin Songwriter of the Year Estéfano, garnered 60% of the Hot 100, Hot Hot R&B/Hip Hop and Hot Latin charts.
