MIDEMNet Panel: Content & Ownership - The Cost of Freedom

Panelists discussed the industry's responses to unauthorized downloading of music files and the use of new technology to assure that creators of musical works can be paid in the future. BMI CEO Frances Preston spoke of the new international technical alliance "FastTrack" whose partners from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, in addition to BMI in the US, represent 38% of the world copyright payments.
