BMI Shines at Hollywood Film Festival

Posted in News on August 9, 2000

The fourth annual Hollywood Film Festival came to a close with special honors going to BMI composer Michael Kamen and actor Richard Dreyfuss for their outstanding achievements and contributions to films. The duo's most memorable collaboration was in the feature film Mr. Holland's Opus, for which a foundation bearing the same name was established. The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation was established to promote instrumental music nationwide by partnering with businesses, schools and communities to provide new and refurbished instruments to qualified schools and individual students.

Shown at the event are (l to r): Richard Dreyfuss; Michael Kamen; BMI's Doreen Ringer-Ross (also the President of The Mr. Hollands Opus Foundation); and Richard Donner.
