‘Los Producers’ Brings Together Latin GRAMMY Winners and Noms on the Eve of 2015 Latin GRAMMYs
BMI once again proudly partnered with ASCAP and SESAC to present the annual “Los Producers” pre-GRAMMY celebration Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas, Nevada. Latin GRAMMY award-winners and nominees performed a variety of cover songs throughout the night, which was hosted by T Lopez. Performances by BMI affiliates included Raquel Sofía covering the Prince classic “Kiss,” rockers Moderatto performing their version of Selena’s “Amor Prohibido,” Francisca Valenzuela doing a powerful cover of Radiohead’s “Creep,” and No Te Va A Gustar covering Soda Stereo’s hit song “De Música Ligera.” Other artists that also gave outstanding performances included BMI affiliates Alex Cuba, Auténticos Decadentes, Diamante Eléctrico, Flor de Toloache and Monsieur Periné.
The Los Producers Band, led by multiple GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY award-winner Sebastian Krys, backed each performance with the help of Adam Zimmon, Andres Saavedra, Andres Torres, Armando Ávila, Áureo Baqueiro, Dan Warner, George Noriega, Gustavo Menendez, John Falcone, Jorge Mejia, Lee Levin, Pete Wallace, Stefano Vieni and Miguel Ramirez. The DJ for the evening was the incomparable Mr. Pauer.
The event helped raise funds, supporting the Cim*ab Foundation (Asociación Mexicana Contra el Cáncer de Mama, A.C), a non-governmental, non-profit organization created to educate and inform Mexican women on breast cancer prevention and its treatment, in an effort to reduce the number of deaths caused by the disease.
