From its early days as a “five bands for five dollars” showcase to one of today’s most prestigious Indie rock events of its kind, San Francisco’s Noise Pop Festival has long been a touchstone for the Indie community. Over the past 24 years, this premier event has been a springboard for bands like The White Stripes, Death Cab for Cutie, Guided by Voices, The Flaming Lips, Spoon, Ok GO and hundreds more. For aspiring indie songwriters, an appearance on the annual Noise Pop bill means not only the promise of high-profile exposure, but also placement in a revered lineage. This year’s festival – its 25th anniversary – is slated from February 16 through February 27 at various venues in San Francisco and will feature highly anticipated performances by BMI acts including Vince Staples, Blonde Redhead, Dawes, Los Campesinos, Rogue Wave and many more.
