Congresswoman Louise Slaughter of New York Signs on to Support Songwriter Equity Act
BMI affiliates in upstate New York and across America will be pleased to hear that Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (D-NY-25) (@LouiseSlaughter) has joined lead Democratic cosponsor Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY-8) (@RepJeffries) in supporting H.R. 1283, the Songwriter Equity Act of 2015. The bill, which was reintroduced in March by Congressman Doug Collins (R-GA-9) (@RepDougCollins), has garnered the support of members of Congress from across the country and the Congresswoman’s cosponsorship will only increase its momentum.
