BMI Supports Deadline’s “Sound & Screen” Concert

Posted in News on November 7, 2022

BMI is pleased to support Deadline’s Sound & Screen Concert, a musical showcase featuring composers and filmmakers from some of the year’s most celebrated films, including EO, Nope, Pinocchio, Selena Gomez: My Mind And Me, Spirited, Tár, Tell It Like A Woman, Thirteen Lives and Wildcat. Happening on November 10 at UCLA’s Royal Hall in Los Angeles, this live, in-person event will feature a 60-piece orchestra performing original pieces from these films’ scores, as well as hosting a series of in-depth discussions with the composers and songwriters. BMI is very proud that composers Alexandre Desplat, Ludwig Göransson and Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch (PRS) will be participating. Desplat, a 2015 BMI Icon recipient, will conduct the orchestra’s performance of his score for Guillermo Del Toro’s acclaimed stop-motion animation film Pinocchio. Göransson, meanwhile, will be conducting the orchestra’s performance of his score for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Levienaise-Farrouch will be conducting her score for Oliver Hermanus’ Living. All three composers will be fielding questions during a Q&A session after their performances.
