BMI Honors Ingrid Andress with First-Ever #1 Party for Platinum Hit “Wishful Drinking (with Sam Hunt)”

BMI hosted the first-ever No. 1 celebration on April 18 for BMI singer/songwriter Ingrid Andress that highlighted the success of her second chart-topping hit “Wishful Drinking (with Sam Hunt).” The event brought together a few of the track’s songwriters including Andress (BMI), Jonny Price (ASCAP) and Rykeyz (ASCAP) along with industry professionals, family and friends as they toasted to the Platinum certified song. Sponsored by Studio Bank, one of the evening’s highlights included a special donation presentation made by Music, Arts & Entertainment Executive Ron Cox, on behalf of Andress and the “Wishful Drinking (with Sam Hunt)” songwriters to the Caring for Covenant fund. The Caring for Covenant Fund was established to provide financial support to individuals affected by the tragic events that occurred on March 27th at The Covenant School in Nashville.

“Wishful Drinking” feat. Sam Hunt was nominated at this year’s GRAMMY Awards for Best Country Duo Performance and at the CMT Music Awards for Best Country Duo. Additionally, the hit track has garnered nearly 300 million global streams to date, and it was one of Billboard’s Top 10 Most Played Songs on country radio last year.
