‘Angel’ Touches Down in Music City

BMI Nashville warmly welcomed Martha Williamson, Creator and Co-Executive Producer of the CBS Television Series Touched By Angel, to town (5/23) with a reception for friends and colleagues. Williamson, in Nashville on a book tour promoting Inviting God To Your Wedding, was honored for her contributions in showcasing Nashville music and artists on her television series and soundtrack albums. The series, now in its sixth season, has been honored with numerous awards, including induction into the Museum of Radio & Television, and Touched By An Angel: The Album, featuring Wynonna, Martina McBride, Della Reese, God�s Property, The Kinleys, Faith Hill, Shawn Colvin, and Amy Grant, has been certified platinum.

BMI Writer/Publisher Relations Director Joyce Rice, a past NATAS Trustee and a member of the Emmy Awards �Creating Critical Viewers� Committee, hosted the reception. The Gospel Music Association, represented by President Frank Breeden; the Country Music Association, represented by Executive Director Ed Benson; and the Christian Country Music Association, with President Gene Higgins and Vice President Vijoya Chappelear, each made presentations to Williamson.
