Song Arts Academy, which evolved out of BMI’s Contemporary Songwriters Workshop, starts a new 5-week Workshop Intensive beginning Tuesday, April 14, in midtown Manhattan. The Workshop focuses on teaching advanced song crafting techniques used by the world’s elite pop songwriters to craft hit songs. Through weekly writing assignments, critiquing studies, song title evaluation, and other strategies, songwriters learn a “new vocabulary” of how to listen to hit songs and apply that knowledge to their own work.
