June 28, 2013 BMI Concludes 16TH Edition of Conducting Workshop Series Broadcast Music, Inc. and 2007 BMI Classic Contribution Award recipient Lucas Richman were on hand June 22, 2013 at the Eastwood Scoring Stage on the Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, to successfully conclude the 16th edition of the BMI Conducting Workshop. Under the guidance of Richman, BMI composers Tomas Altamirano, Kristen Baum, Kim Carroll, Howard Drossin, Haim Mazar, Greg O’Connor, Craig Owens and Hyesu Yang participated in the private eight-session workshop, which took place from June 11 to June 22 and allowed selected composers to hone their craft - from the fundamentals of conducting multimeter scores to conducting to picture with a 32-piece orchestra.
The BMI Conducting Workshop is coordinated by Ray Yee, BMI Assistant Vice President, Film/TV Relations and Philip Shrut, BMI Associate Director, Film/TV Relations, along with BMI’s Film/TV staff. BMI is proud to celebrate and nurture the art of conducting with the Company’s annual Conducting Workshop.
