BMI to Sponsor Stage at Inaugural Landmark Music Festival in D.C.

Posted in News on September 9, 2015

BMI has proudly signed on as a sponsor of the inaugural Landmark Music Festival, which will take place in West Potomac Park in Washington, D.C., September 26 and 27. With more than 40 artists performing, the festival features top BMI acts across genres on multiple stages, including folk songstress Rhiannon Giddens, upbeat pop-rockers the Mowgli’s, and rapper boots. Performers on BMI’s stage include “Tropicaliente” band Empresarios, rock n’ rollers the London Souls, New Orleans jazz-funk-hip-hop group Rebirth Brass Band and American rock n’ soul group the Suffers.

Produced by C3 Presents and presented by Trust for the National Mall, a partner of the National Park Service, funds raised from the festival will be used for the restoration and maintenance of the National Mall. One of the United States’ most treasured landmarks, the area is home to iconic monuments and memorials, and is a landing spot for more than 29 million visitors a year.

“We could not be happier to partner with C3 Presents once again to showcase a great line-up of can’t-miss performers.” said Mark Mason, BMI Executive Director, Writer-Publisher Relations. “We are honored to be a part of this inaugural festival and proud that funds will help preserve and restore The National Mall.”
