To celebrate 50 years of Hip-Hop, BMI brought together multiple megastars for a special tribute performance representing key locations in the history of the genre. Rappers Ja Rule and Doug E. Fresh and Vicious took the stage for New York City. Too Short dedicated his set to the West Coast. The Ying Yang Twins performed in the name of Atlanta, while Trick Daddy and Trina, with a special introduction by Flo Milli, showcased the sound of Miami. Additional crowd-rousing performers included Mannie Fresh and Capella Grey.

BMI also commissioned acclaimed artist DL Warfield to create a unique piece for this event. Renowned as the visionary behind some of Hip-Hop and R&B’s most recognizable album covers, Warfield’s love and respect for the genre is evident throughout his amazing body of work, which fuses Hip-Hop, urban culture and fine art.
