Composer/Director Roundtable

BMI has a year round relationship with Sundance and has for over 20 years now.  We are deeply involved with the Sundance Composers Lab which happens at the Sundance Institute in Utah every summer.  The lab allows accomplished musicians/composers to explore composing for film while introducing filmmakers to the importance of music in film.  We thread this concept into the festival via our Composer/Director Roundtable.  We also come to The Sundance Film Festival to support BMI composers who have scored films in the festival as well as the filmmakers they work with.  This year I was particularly pleased to have Peter Golub (who is the Director of the Sundance Composers Lab) on the roundtable as the composer of two films in the festival… “IOUSA” and “Frozen River” which won the Grand Jury Prize for best film drama.
