Number Nine, Number Nine, Number Nine

by Doreen Ringer Ross

When I first heard the title of John August’s film “The Nines”, all I could think of was listening to the White Album….and although the film has nothing to do with the Beatles “Revolution 9” song….watching the film left me feeling kind of the same way that the song did…fascinated…but a little confused about what the heck it means.  Linda Livingston and I spent Sunday night at the premiere of this film which was brilliantly scored by Alex Wurman.  Alex was there along with his manager Bobby Urband.

Basically “The Nines” is comprised of three separate movies with the same fabulous actors playing different roles in each one….except they overlap and interconnect…I think.  I think the film is about the different layers of reality that co-exist and how creative people tend to totally lose themselves into their created worlds.  In spite of my lack of clarity, I found the film completely unique and compelling and if you want to know more about it you can explore here:  http://lookforthenines.com/
