BMI is proud to announce the songwriters and publishers who were honored for Latin music’s most-performed songs on U.S. radio and television at the 20th annual BMI Latin Music Awards at the Bellagio Hotel Las Vegas on March 21, 2013.
Legendary Regional Mexican group Banda el Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga received the BMI Icon Award in recognition of the influential group’s role as genre leaders. As the 2013 recipient, Banda el Recodo joins an elite list of past honorees that includes such Latin music giants as Gustavo Santaolalla, Juan Luis Guerra, Gloria Estefan, Los Tigres Del Norte, and Carlos Santana. To celebrate, Banda el Recodo and Chino y Nacho treated attendees to a dynamic performance.
