Corporate giant Chase helped to launch a huge-scale Hurricane Sandy relief effort by presenting a live concert at Madison Square Garden on 12/12/12. The line-up of musical giants giving their time and talents at this unsurpassed event included among many others BMI songwriters Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Roger Waters, The Who, Kanye West, and Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters. Absolutely all proceeds and donations generated will go to community organizations serving the victims of Hurricane Sandy through the Robin Hood Relief Fund, which is the largest private poverty-fighting organization in New York City. The organization provided blankets, hot food, heaters, generators and more to residents in Red Hook, Coney Island, the Rockaways, and all across the affected region within hours of the storm. As part of this charitable event, BMI’s licensing department waived all licensing fees.
