BMI and Parnassus Books hosted a book signing for Southern Rock legend and long-time BMI songwriter Gregg Allman’s memoir “My Cross to Bear” on May 10 at their Nashville offices. The spacious lobby was packed with fans, friends, musicians, and well-wishers who had gathered for the buzzed-about event. Co-written by Alan Light, the book reflects on Allman’s storied career and the legacy of the Allman Brothers Band. BMI partnered with MillerCoors to present songwriters Will Hoge and Dylan Altman at the Kroger Customer Loyalty & Marketing Conference, held recently in Nashville at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Altman entertained the crowd with his recent No. 1 "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" by Jake Owen and his Tim McGraw No. 1 "Watch the Wind Blow By," and the pair performed several songs they collaborated on for Hoge's current studio album Seven. Hoge also delivered his song "Even If It Breaks Your Heart," which is currently a Top 15 country hit for the Eli Young Band.
