Staff members from Curb Records recently brought BMI singer/songwriter Mo Pitney by BMI’s Nashville office to celebrate his addition to the label’s roster and publishing wing. A native of Rockford, Illinois, 19-year-old Pitney has generated a Music Row buzz thanks to his shows throughout Nashville. Award-winning BMI songwriter Liz Rose brought two of her publishing company’s newest writers, Jesse Stevie Walker and Jeff Middleton, by BMI’s Nashville offices so the pair could officially join BMI as songwriters. Artists such as Avril Lavigne, Brie Larson, and Martina McBride have recorded Walker’s material, and Middleton plays guitar for Warner Bros Records’ the Dirt Drifters. BMI partnered with MillerCoors to present songwriters Will Hoge and Dylan Altman at the Kroger Customer Loyalty & Marketing Conference, held recently in Nashville at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Altman entertained the crowd with his recent No. 1 "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" by Jake Owen and his Tim McGraw No. 1 "Watch the Wind Blow By," and the pair performed several songs they collaborated on for Hoge's current studio album Seven. Hoge also delivered his song "Even If It Breaks Your Heart," which is currently a Top 15 country hit for the Eli Young Band.
