Texas Congressman Pete Sessions Lends Support to Songwriter Equity Act

Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32) (@PeteSessions) has joined lead sponsor Congressman Doug Collins (R-GA-9) (@RepDougCollins) in support of H.R. 1283, the Songwriter Equity Act of 2015. The bill, which was introduced by Congressman Collins last March, continues to gain support on Capitol Hill, and Congressman Sessions’ cosponsorship is welcome news to BMI affiliates in Texas and across the country. Congressman Sessions serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Rules.

If passed, the SEA will protect the rights and royalties of music creators, making it vitally important that Members of Congress hear from their constituents in their home states so that they, too, will speak up on your behalf.
