Songwriters Lara Johnston, Macy Kate and Jax to Play BMI’s Acoustic Lounge

BMI is excited to announce the performers at its upcoming Acoustic Lounge showcase, to be held February 25, 2014, at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City. This month’s musical assemblage - starting at 9:00pm - will feature songwriters Lara Johnston, Macy Kate and Jax, who will perform stripped-down versions of their catchy, knee-tapping tunes.

The songstresses chosen to play February’s “Lounge” reflect a varied musical pedigree: Lara’s powerful voice has led her to multiple SXSW stages and earned her opening act spots for KISS and Heart; Macy Kate’s viral video has more than 7 million views and she has worked with such producers as Rock City (Rihanna, Drake); and Jax’s trajectory began at the infamous Stone Pony and ascended to slots on the Warped Tour and Bamboozle festival.

Each of these artists offers a unique spin on the pop genre. Take this opportunity to see them up-close-and-personal - and for free - at BMI’s upcoming Acoustic Lounge.

BMI’s Acoustic Lounge is a showcase featuring up-and-coming singer-songwriters from all genres. This monthly series is designed to expose BMI performers to the public and the music industry through an intimate showcase. Admission is free.
