Inaugural 30A Songwriters Festival Slated for January 15-17 in Florida

The first annual 30A Songwriters Festival will debut January 15-17 along the resort highway on the Florida panhandle between Destin and Panama City Beach. More than 50 songwriters, including Jeffrey Steele (“The Cowboy in Me” for Tim McGraw, “What Hurts the Most” for Rascal Flatts), BMI Icon John Oates (“Sara Smile”, “Everytime You Go Away”), virtuosic mandolin player and Newgrass founder Sam Bush, the Bangles’ Susanna Hoffs (“Eternal Flame,” “Manic Monday”), Matthew Sweet (“Girlfriend,” “Sick Of Myself”), revered singer/songwriter Rodney Crowell (Waylon Jennings’ “Ain’t Livin’ Long Like This,” Tim McGraw’s “Please Remember Me,” and Keith Urban’s “Memories of Us”), the Jayhawks’ Gary Louris (“Save It For A Rainy Day,” “Blue,” the Dixie Chicks’ “Everybody Knows”), Shawn Mullins (“Lullaby (Rockabye”), Chely Wright (“Single White Female”, Shut Up and Drive”), and many more are slated to perform.

BMI will sponsor the official kick-off party at Bud & Alley’s bar, which will feature a special performance by Sid ‘n’ Susie, Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs’ 60’s and 70’s covers project.

Throughout the three-day musical smorgasbord, additional performers will include Greg Barnhill, Tim Nichols, Joe Leathers, Jessi Alexander, Jon Randall, Suzi Ragsdale, Jeff Black, Michelle Malone, Evan McHugh, Bryan and Gordon Kennedy, Dread Clampitt, Sonia Leigh, Gary Hannan, Donnie Sundal, LoCash Cowboys, Nicole Witt, Fred Wilhelm, Jeffrey Cain, Ben Glover, Brian Davis, Michael and Ruth Unger Merenda, Billy Montana, Pearl Heart, Pete Sallis, Kyle Jacobs, Troy Jones and many more.

The shows will in seven luxury resorts along the Gulf of Mexico in Alys Beach (Caliza Pool), Rosemary Beach (Town Hall), Seaside (Meeting Hall Theatre), Miramar Beach (Bluz Bar), WaterColor (the Boathouse), Grayton Beach (Shorty’s Surfside) and Santa Rosa Beach (Stinky’s).
