Durango Songwriter’s Expo Feb. 24-26 in Santa Barbara Wine Country
BMI will proudly sponsor the 7th Annual Durango Songwriter’s Expo/Santa Barbara Wine Country, slated for February 24-26 at the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott near Solvang, CA. Part networking hive, part educational seminar, the Durango Songwriter’s Expo offers aspiring songwriters the opportunity to mingle with and learn from peers, established hit-makers, and leading industry executives. BMI troubadours Big Al Anderson, Chuck Cannon, Danny Myrick, and more number prominently among the featured performing songwriters scheduled to attend.

The Expo’s “Write with the Hitmakers” songwriting contest is also underway. Participants may choose to enter in one of three categories: pop/rock, country/Americana, and, for the first time, film/television. The winner in the pop/rock field will write with Toad the Wet Sprocket’s Glen Phillips and earn a one-song publishing contract; the country/Americana winner will pen and tune with hit writers Ken Johnson and Andi Zack and also earn a one-song publishing contract; and the film/TV victor will receive an offer from LA’s Riptide Music.
