BMI Wraps Up SXSW 2015
In 1986, BMI was the first performing rights organization to sponsor a showcase at SXSW, and ever since then we’ve ramped up our presence, offering more and more opportunities for BMI songwriters to perform and gain valuable experience on our stages and from our panel discussions. This year, our signature Bar 96 showcase and Acoustic Brunch, along with both our new Latin showcase and new R&B/Hip-Hop showcase, highlighted the immense talents of some of BMI’s most diverse music creators. Our “Building the Beat” and “Content, Copyright and Commerce” panels also shed light on the craft and business side of songwriting with lively discussions that provided useable insights for all who attended.
