BMI Hosts Annual “Music in Film” Panel & Dinner At Woodstock Film Festival in New York

BMI hosted the annual “Music in Film” panel during the 13th annual Woodstock Film Festival on Saturday, October 13 at Mountain View Studio in Woodstock, New York. The panel featured a case study of the music from the Woodstock Film Festival’s official selection Vamps. The panelists included were the film’s director Amy Heckerling, BMI composer David Kitay, producer Lauren Versel, and singer/songwriter Mollie Israel. Moderated by BMI’s Vice President of Film/TV Relations Doreen Ringer Ross, “Music in Film” explored the creative and aesthetic aspects of music in film, the composer/director relationship, and the unique concerns of music in new media.

In addition to the panel, Ringer Ross hosted a kick-off dinner on Friday, October 12 at Oriole 9 in Woodstock to celebrate the Beatle’s classic film “Magical Mystery Tour”. Attendees of the annual private dinner included Jonathan Clyde, Meira Blaustein, Michael Lang, Elliott Landy, Johanna Hall, Robbie Dupree, Leon Gast, Tim Hutton, Amy Heckerling, Barbara Kopple, Mynette Louie, T. Griffin, Rick Baitz, Nancy Shaffer, Nikki Goldbeck, Ron Mann, Laurent Rejito, Amy Rosen, Michael Bacon, David Kitay, and Dan Habib.
