BMI Hit Writers Share Their Advice at Workshop in Wilmington, DE

Posted in News on March 5, 2014

For songwriters not living in industry hubs such as Los Angeles, Nashville, Atlanta or New York, finding opportunities to work with established songwriters in an informal environment can be hard to come by. Broadcast Music, Inc., the Music School of Delaware and 93.7 WSTW are offering a remedy - the WSTW Songwriters Workshop, to be held on Saturday afternoon, March 8, 2014, from 2:00 – 4:00pm at the World Cafe Live at the Queen in Wilmington, DE. Registrants will have the unique chance to sit down with esteemed BMI songwriters Doug James and Jeff Cohen for an afternoon of advice and creativity. While their names may not immediately ring bells, their body of work sure will: James is responsible for co-penning Michael Bolton’s “How Am I Supposed To Live Without You” and has hits in the discographies of artists such as Dionne Warwick and Cissy Houston, and Cohen has worked with everybody from Big & Rich and Sugarland to Macy Gray and Mandy Moore. Registration for the two-hour small capacity workshop also includes tickets to an intimate Singer/Songwriter Showcase at the Queen, where James and Cohen will be on the bill.
