BMI Writers Shine at 2018 Billboard Latin Music Awards

BMI songwriters made another strong showing at 2018’s Billboard Latin Music Awards, last night, which were held at the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas. Building on his incredible track record, recent BMI President’s Award recipient Luis Fonsi claimed the most awards of the evening, winning the trophy for Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Male as well as Hot Latin Song of the Year, Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event, Airplay Song of the Year, Digital Song of the Year, Streaming Song of the Year and Latin Pop Song of the Year for his record-breaking smash, “Despacito.”  Also notably recognized for their amazing impact on Latin Music over this past year were Ozuna, who won the coveted Artist of The Year Award, and Shakira who claimed Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Female, Top Latin Albums Artists of the Year, Female, Latin Pop Artist of the Year, Solo and Latin Pop Album of the Year for El Dorado.
