BMI Congratulates its 2018 Latin GRAMMY Nominees
BMI affiliates made another strong showing in the nominations for the 2018 Latin GRAMMY Awards, which were announced Thursday. In keeping with their continued ascent, a multitude of BMI’s Latin songwriters received multiple nominations to collect coveted GRAMMY gold for their groundbreaking work this year. Among this impressive list of music creators, J Balvin earned a staggering eight nominations, most notably for Album of the Year, Best Urban Performance and Best Urban Music Album, along with three separate nominations for Best Urban Song and two separate nods for Record of the Year. Andres Torres earned four nominations, specifically for Song of the Year, Producer of the year and two separate nods for Best Tropical Song. Recent BMI Champion Award recipient Residente earned three nominations, namely for Album of the Year and two separate nods for Best Short Form Music Video. Other multiple-nominees include Bomba Estereo and Monsieur Perine, who both earned three nods each, and Claudia Prieto, Jonathan Bryan Thiel, Juan G. Rivera and Jean Rodriguez, who all earned two nominations.
The winners of the 19th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will be announced on Thursday, November 15, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and will be broadcast live on Univision from 8 - 11 p.m. ET.
