BMI Celebrates #1 Hit, “Damn Strait”

BMI honored the #1 hit, “Damn Strait” on Monday evening at BMI’s office. The tune, sung by BMI country artist and songwriter Scotty McCreery, and written by Jim Collins and Trent Tomlinson, is a tribute to the legendary country icon George Strait. The song describes a relationship gone wrong, and the feeling of heartbreak.
“Damn Strait” spent three weeks at the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart and is Scotty’s fifth consecutive number one song. The RIAA certified gold single spent one week at the number one position on the Mediabase chart.
