BMI’s country vanguard dominated the 2011 CMT Music Awards, taking honors for every award presented for the trophies handed out on Wednesday, June 8 in Nashville. The surge underscores the viability of the BMI catalog, whose creators continue to excel in the ever-expanding menu of ways to connect with fans.

Taylor Swift took home Video of the Year for “Mine.” Swift accepted the night’s top prize via satellite in Milwaukee, where she was onstage in front of a 15,000-deep audience. Blake Shelton earned two awards, which he also accepted via satellite from the set of The Voice in Los Angeles. The wins reflect the star’s now-signature blend of tender ballads and wry storytelling: Love song “Who Are You When I’m Not Looking” was named Male Video of the Year, while “Kiss My Country Ass” received Best Web Video of the Year honors.

Miranda Lambert’s “The House That Built Me” garnered Female Video of the Year, while Lady Antebellum’s “Hello World” earned Group Video of the Year. Duo Video of the Year went to Sugarland for “Stuck Like Glue, and Rascal Flatts walked away with Collaborative Video of the Year trophies thanks to “That Should Be Me.” Breakout trio The Band Perry scored the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year crown for “If I Die Young,” while the pairing of Zac Brown Band and Jimmy Buffett performing “Margaritaville” on earned the CMT Performance of the Year win.
