Miami Music Festival Preps for 2nd Year

Photo

The 2nd annual Miami Music Festival will take over the streets and venues of its city namesake November 12-14 during Miami’s newly designated Live Music Month. Building on the success of last year’s inaugural festival, MMF 2010 will feature more than 500 artists and bands spanning rock, alternative, and singer/songwriter sounds, as well as Latin, urban, Caribbean, and jazz. In December 2009, the inaugural MMF attracted more than 18,000 attendees, who caught 270 acts in 75 shows on 25 stages.

This year, attendees hoping to hone their business sides will enjoy a conference at the Hyatt Regency Miami, the festival’s headquarters hotel, Friday, November 12 and Saturday, November 13. The music will pour off the stage day and night, with two daytime sessions on five stages in Bayfront Park and a show at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.

BMI songwriters, composers and music publishers are encouraged to take advantage of discounted registration rates: Purchase a conference badge before September 15, 2010, and enter your BMI account number to receive a 20% discount. That discount jumps to 60% if you also apply to perform at MMF.
