Indie Spotlight: Heavy Young Heathens

Photo

Heavy Young Heathens is the artistic partnership of brothers Aron and Robert Mardo, who have been musically collaborating in various incarnations practically their whole lives. The pair’s debut album topped the FMQB Specialty Radio chart, while tracks “Sha La La La La” and “Drawn from Memory” both reached the chart’s top five. The album also yielded “Jackie Come Lately,” recently tapped as theme song for MTV’s Ultimate Parkour Challenge. Their EP “Make Room for the Youth,” produced by JP Bowersock (The Strokes, Julian Casablancas) and mixed by Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Avett Brothers Johnny Cash) was released in April 2010.
