A mix of fans, music executives and bourgeoning singer/songwriters packed New York’s Highline Ballroom March 4 for BMI Presents: Industry Insider – “How I Produced the Record.” The panel featured recording artists and top music producers, the latter of whom discussed their many roles, which include controlling a recording session, overseeing musicians, mixing and mastering.

FUSE TV’s Allison Hagendorf moderated the panel, which featured the Grammy-nominated production duo Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers, the in-demand Kato Khandwala, and Liberal Arts Music Publishing songwriting/producer Ben Phillips.

Three high-energy performances from SRP/SRC/Universal Records artist Shontelle, buzz-band Morningwood and actress/singer Taylor Momsen capped off the event.
