BMI Artists Dominate Top-Selling Album, Artists Slots in Billboard Best of Decade Lists

Billboard recently announced the top-selling artists and albums of the past decade, and BMI artist/songwriters dominate both lists. Oscar and Grammy award-winner Eminem appears in both lists an impressive total of three times, once as a best-selling artist and twice in the best-selling album tally. Linkin Park and Britney Spears also appear on both lists: Spears ranks 5th and 9th in the best-selling artist and album lists, respectively, while Linkin Park ranks 7th in both lists.

BMI represents all of the top five artists of the decade, as well as two others in the top 10. As a result, BMI represents seven out of 10 of the world’s best-selling superstars.

With seven out of 10 spots, BMI artists/songwriters also earned the majority of slots in the best-selling albums of the decade list.
