Dolly Parton Enters Gospel Music Hall of Fame

Dolly Parton added another gold star to her long list of career accolades as she entered the Gospel Music Hall of Fame earlier this month. Already a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Parton was also named a BMI Icon in 2003. BMI songwriter and producer Lari Goss, whose résumé includes work with Glen Campbell and B.J. Thomas, also joined the prestigious hall, as did esteemed BMI gospel jubilee troupe the Dixie Hummingbirds.

Legendary singer, songwriter and performer Parton recently spoke about her induction with the Tennessean, confessing, "I'm going to be doing a gospel album of my own, so I told 'em maybe they'd want to wait ‘til I did that. But they said, 'No, let's do this now and next time you can just get up and sing.'"
