AthFest Panel Led by BMI’s Dave Claassen Educates UGA Students

Athens, Georgia’s annual music and arts festival AthFest sponsored a unique panel Saturday, October 4 at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business and Hugh Hodgson School of Music. Moderated by BMI’s Dave Claassen, the discussion, dubbed “How to Start a Band and Keep It Together Once You Do,” grew out of valuable insight from a mash-up of indie artists and industry veterans including VIBE Media Group Editor-at-Large Rob Kenner; Camper Van Beethoven and Cracker band member David Lowery; attorney and producer David Prasse; Ponderosa frontman Kalen Nash; band Trances Arc’s Michael Dorio; Nomad Artists owner and Modern Skirts manager Troy Aubrey; and Modern Skirts’ JoJo Glidewell.
