‘Verano Alternativo’ Showcase Rocks New York Music Scene

S.O.B’s was the epicenter of Latin alternative rock music July 8, as BMI held “Verano Alternativo,” a continuation of its “BMI Presents” showcase series. The showcase was the unofficial kick-off to the Latin Alternative Music Conference, a four-day event geared towards the marketing of Spanish-language alternative music. Attendees were treated to performances by bi-lingual pop-rock band organicArma and indie-electronic band LapDance. Additional performers included New York City-based power pop-rock outfit Taxi Amarillo, South American triple threat Origen, and Dominican-born Marel.

“BMI Presents: Verano Alternativo” was sponsored by Cyloop.com, Gibson, El Especialito & El Especial Newspapers, LaMusica.com, NocheLatina.com, myspacelatino.com, Divino Magazine and The Latin Recording Academy (LARAS).
