A Conversation with Moby at SXSW

BMI sponsored an in depth conversation with internationally distinguished musician Moby at the Austin Convention Center during SXSW on March 11. Moderated by Doreen Ringer Ross, BMI’s Vice President, Film & Television Relations, Moby discussed his music’s relationship with cinema, the challenges and rewards accompanying the composition of original scores and his new project “moby gratis”, which seeks to offer his music to independent filmmakers free of charge.

In addition, BMI songwriter Billy Bob Thornton took part in a Q&A session moderated by journalist and producer of “The Black List” Elvis Mitchell.

A video stream of the event has been posted by LAist.
