‘Ray Charles Live!’ Honors Living Legend
Ray Charles Live!, written by BMI Librettist Suzan-Lori Parks (Pulitzer Prize winner for Top Dog Underdog), and directed by Sheldon Epps, premiered November 9 at the Pasadena Playhouse in California. Tony Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (‘Mister’ in The Color Purple) stars in the title role as the seminal musician records his final album. BMI’s Linda Livingston was in attendance to congratulate the creative team on their new musical.
