2007 Cuervoton Winner Signs with BMI

Photo

2007 Cuervoton winner Patty Dukes and her hype man Rephstar recently signed with BMI. Dukes, an emcee, recently competed in the second annual Cuervoton contest in Chicago, winning a major record deal with Def Jam’s Roc La Familia, a featured slot on Estudio 201’s Volume 3 CD and the opportunity to perform on the Cuervoton 2008 tour with such artists as Joell Ortiz, Nina Sky and Pitbull.

Tequila maker Jose Cuervo launched the Cuervoton contest in 2006 as a vehicle to search for the next Latino music star. BMI co-sponsored the event, which is a platform for unsigned Latino artists to showcase their talent and aide in elevating their careers.
